North Channel Métis Council Hosts Evergreen Salve Workshop

On Friday, March 20, 2026, the North Channel Métis Council hosted a hands-on evergreen salve making workshop, bringing together council members and community citizens for an afternoon of learning and connection.

Participants had the opportunity to create their own natural salve, designed to help relieve cough and congestion while also soothing sore muscles. The salve was made using olive oil infused with pine, spruce, and fir needles, combined with beeswax. For those who wished, peppermint essential oil was available to add a refreshing and cooling element.

Beyond the salve-making itself, the workshop offered a welcoming space for community members to gather, share stories, and enjoy each other’s company. The positive atmosphere and strong sense of community made the event a meaningful experience for all who attended.
